The National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA) presents this “Putting First Responders First” conference with support from the Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS). The State of California’s Office of Homeland Security (OHS) also will participate.

The event aims to inform first responders, state and local governments, industry and academia on the direction and scope of DHS S&T research investments by describing current programs and discussing technology needs within the field.

The program includes an impressive list of speakers, featuring DHS Under Secretary for Science and Technology Jay Cohen and Matthew Bettenhausen, executive director of the California OHS. In addition, researchers from universities, private companies, laboratories and other organizations will present at the conference.

“Putting First Responders First” will be held in the Los Angeles Convention Center. Credentialed, uniformed first responders will gain free admission to conference sessions, receptions and the exhibition hall.
