| | | eNEWSLETTER SPONSOR | .jpg) 3M™ INTRODUCES THINSULATE™ INSULATION FR 3M™ has introduced Thinsulate™ Insulation FR for the occupational workplace. For more than 25 years, the industry has recognized Thinsulate insulation as a lightweight material that helps keep workers warm and comfortable. Now workers can achieve that same level of warmth and comfort with the added bonus of flame resistance. Thinsulate insulation FR is designed for garments made for the electrical utility and oil and gas workplaces, where momentary, unplanned or accidental exposure to flames, heat or electrical arc may occur. Thinsulate insulation FR has exceptional thermal weight efficiency making it ideal for outdoor environments. The lofty fibrous webs trap more air and contain more of the body's radiant heat than higher density needle-punched webs, thereby maintaining warmth and breathability. The material maintains its flame resistance for the expected life of the garment, even after repeated home washings, industrial hot water washings or dry cleaning due to the utilization of inherently FR fibers. Thinsulate insulation FR has been tested in accordance with ASTM D 6413-99 Standard Test Method for Flame Resistance of Textiles (Vertical Burn) and according to EN ISO 15025:2002, and received an Index 1 rating. solutions.3m.com | 2. USFA: 2007 Tragic Year for Firefighters According to provisional fatality statistics released by the United States Fire Administration (USFA), 115 on-duty firefighters died in 2007, prompting Fire Administrator Greg Cade to label it "one of the most tragic years for firefighters in recent memory."

The same advanced technology has been used in the design of the emergency apparatus intercom systems to insure the highest quality, durability and reliability. INTERCOMMUNICATION: Each crew members headset is connected to a voice activated intercom system, providing convenient "hands free" communication. This feature improves safety by allowing the vehicle operator to communicate without diverting attention away from traffic surveillance. In addition, the operator now has an extra set of eyes and ears to immediately alert him to unseen traffic. Use of the Sigtronics' intercom also saves precious moments by allowing the officer to brief the crew in route. www.sigtronics.com 2008 Crop Protection Handbook When you need safety and hazard information about crop protection and other agricultural products, you need the 2008 Crop Protection Handbook.
